To enhance the safety awareness and emergency response capabilities of international faculty, SWUST organized a fire safety training session on April 25th, which encompassed safety lectures, evacuation drills, and fire extinguishing exercises.

Staff from the Security Office explained to teachers from Australia, Pakistan, the UK, the US, and other countries on topics including fire identification, its perils, response protocols, emergency handling in a fire, evacuation techniques, and precautions. Through videos, they vividly illustrated scenarios of electric scooter-induced fires, emphasizing safety guidelines for charging, and demonstrated different types of fire extinguishers and their usage instructions.

During the evacuation drill, everyone soaked towels in buckets of water, covered their noses and mouths, and evacuated the building swiftly via designated routes. A thorough headcount confirmed the safe evacuation of all participants.

During the hands-on extinguisher practice, under the guidance of Security Office personnel, the international teachers grasped extinguishers, pulled the safety pins, and sprayed the base of the flames, swiftly extinguishing the fire.

The training provided international faculty with a clear understanding of the gravity of fire hazards and the importance of prevention, equipping them with essential evacuation and self-rescue skills. Participants found the training valuable and expressed their gratitude to the university for organizing this event.
