SWUST organized a cultural immersion event in Beichuan titled “International Teachers Explore China” on May 22nd. More than ten international teachers from countries such as Pakistan, Ghana, and Chile visited the Wenchuan Earthquake Memorial Museum and Shiyi Qiang Village in Beichuan Qiang Autonomous County, where they experienced Qiang ethnic culture firsthand and witnessed the resilience and unity of the Chinese people.
At the museum, teachers explored the exhibition, “Eternal Commemoration of the Mountains and Rivers”, reflecting on preciousness of life and the greatness of earthquake relief efforts. As part of their visit, they participated in emergency skills training sessions, including Heimlich maneuver, bleeding control and bandaging, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation technique, gaining impactful lesson in safety education.
In Shiyi Village, a village rebuilt in a new location following the devastating Wenchuan earthquake, teachers immersed themselves in the beautiful ecological environment and rich Qiang folk culture of Shiyi Qiang Village. They also experienced the unique charm of Qiang culture, marveling at its revitalized post-earthquake look and the vitality of rural revitalization, all witnessing the flourishing of this land.
This activity not only built an emotional bridge for deepening understanding of Chinese culture but also provided international teachers with a unique perspective to share Chinese stories globally.
